I've had my eye on Motives makeup for a few months now, it's really popular on Instagram and lot's of makeup artists use the brand.  I remember Mario Dedivanovic (Kim K's makeup artist) using Motives products on one of his Youtube Tutorials and I fell in love with the look he did.
A few weeks back, I was contacted by Motives trainer Andreea and she wanted to send me a product to try out and let her know my thoughts.  Of course I jumped at the chance and told her I would love to try something from the Motives line,  we had a little chat and she told me she'd be sending me the Motives Mavens Sculpt Series Palette in the shade 'Fire'.  It arrived the next working day and I couldn't wait to give it a try...

The palette has four cream shades which blend like a dream, you get two highlight/concealer shades and two contour shades.
The packaging is very similar to NARS with the rubber texture which collects dirt very easily but I like how it has 'grip' so it doesn't slide about everywhere.
You also get a small brush which is quite fluffy, most brushes you get in kits are very stiff and crap quality which always end up in the bin but I was surprised to see how well this one worked with the creams and it was certainly staying clear from the bin!

The Motives website describes this palette as:

"A perfecting palette that includes everything you need for a flawless, radiant complexion with a no-makeup look and feel. Perfect for concealing, highlighting and contouring the face. Created by our very own Motives Mavens this palette is perfect for all your foundation needs."
For the highlight/concealer shades on the left you get a yellow and a pink shade, the yellow is perfect for full on highlight and will suit most skin tones (think Ben Nye's Banana) and the pink shade is perfect for concealing any blue/dark areas under the eyes.  The contouring shades on the right are more on the warm side, I do prefer cool toned shades for contouring as it gives the most natural effect but these are still great colours and don't give off an orange appearance like most warmer shades seem to do.
Here I used a mix of both contour shades and applied where I wanted my face to appear 'slimmer.'
I then added the yellow highlight shade to highlight the areas I wanted to have more focus.
I blended slightly with the brush that came with the palette then used a damp Beauty Blender.
You can see the definition on my face now, I love the yellow concealer as it really brightens my skin without looking too drag.

Would I purchase this palette myself?  HELL YES!!!  I'm extremely pleased with how well this contours and highlights, I've used other contour palettes in the past and none of them compare to this.   It's really easy to use so it's perfect for beginners as well as professionals and my favourite shades are the yellow highlight and the darker contour shade.
The packaging is very compact and easy to travel with and if you're a makeup artist like me it's so handy to have in your kit.  I've used this on two of my makeup clients who wanted the contour effect and they both loved the finished look.
After using this product I definitely want to try more from Motives as I can imagine the whole product line being excellent... I have my eye on some of the lip products so will have to invest sometime soon!

The palette is £28.75 which is very reasonable for something that will last you a long time and can be used in different ways.  To purchase one for yourself shop here and enter the code 10OFFMA to get 10% discount off all Motives products.
